An allocation of almost €100,000 for the Galway Hospice has been made from Dormant Accounts Fund. The funding is being provided by the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection which will be reimbursed from the Dormant Accounts Fund.
The Dormant Accounts Fund comes under my remit as Minister of State at the Department of Rural and Community Development. Each year an Action Plan is prepared with sets out the programmes and initiatives across Government departments to be funded from the Fund
This funding confirmed to me by my colleague, Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection, Regina Doherty will support Galway Hospice and the vital work it does. The Hospice, along with other hospices, provides a vital service for individual and families at very difficult times. The work of Galway Hospice helps countless families at its facility in Renmore and in communities across Galway.
