Parliamentary Questions

Parliamentary Questions (PQs) may be submitted by a TD for oral answer in the Dáil or, as in the majority of cases, for written answer. PQs are a useful way of gathering information on a variety of issues including national and local matters or information concerning constituents. Some Government departments, such as the Department of Social Protection, have dedicated contact points for TDs and it is often more efficient and speedy to use these channels rather than to submit PQs.
