€2.45 million has been allocated for the provision of ten new social homes in Connemara. The investment has been confirmed to me by the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, Eoghan Murphy TD and is part of the Local Authority Housing Construction Programme of the Rebuilding Ireland Strategy.
This investment of €2.45 million in housing will provide ten new homes in Roundstone including eight two-bedroom homes and two three-bedroom homes.
Of the allocation €1.65 million is for the construction of the new homes while €600,000 is to cover costs associated with the site including site investigation, technical fees and utilities’ provision and connection.
This investment is a welcome boost for housing provision in Connemara and will provide new homes for individuals and families in the Roundstone and West Connemara locality while also boosting the Galway construction sector.
The investment is part of the comprehensive Rebuilding Ireland Strategy which includes actions across housing supply and construction, the rental sector as well as financing for housing and accommodation.
