€5.9 million in Government funding for 30 new homes in Moycullen
Government funding of €5.9 million has been allocated for the construction of 30 new homes in Moycullen.
The funding has been allocated to Galway County Council under the Local Authority Housing Construction Programme of Rebuilding Ireland by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government.
This funding of €5.9 million from the Government, as confirmed to me by my colleague, Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, Eoghan Murphy TD, will provide welcome new housing in Moycullen.
Under the Local Authority Housing Construction Programme, the Government is providing this funding for the construction of 30 new homes at Gort Uí Lochainn in Moycullen. The development will comprise a mix of 19 two-bedroom homes and 11 three-bedroom homes.
The project is among a number of developments in Galway which are increasing the supply of housing and further developments are expected shortly. Latest figures show that construction activity is increasing with the number of planning permissions, the number of commencement notices and the number of ESB connections all up by over one quarter year-on-year.
