Fine Gael TD for Galway West & Mayo South

Funding allocated to Galway Animal Welfare Organisations

€82,000 has been allocated to several animal welfare organisations in Galway, my colleague, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed has informed me.

The funding allocations are:

Fellenberg Foundation Ireland, Flesk, Woodford, Co. Galway €4,000
Forgotten Horses Ireland, Rock Cottage, Ballycleara,  Kinvara, Co. Galway €7,500
Galway & Claddagh Swan Rescue, 68 Ashleigh Grove, Knocknacarra, Galway €5,500
Galway Cat Rescue, Seacrest, Knocknacarra, Co. Galway €5,000
Galway SPCA, Heathlawn, Killimor, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway €40,000
MADRA, Cinn  Mhara, Camus, Connemara, Co. Galway €12,000
Pro Animale Ireland Ltd., Avalon Greyhound Sanctuary, Flesk, Woodford, Co. Galway €8,000

As someone with a background in farming and agriculture and as the owner of a rescue dog I know the importance of upholding the highest animal welfare standards.

We are fortunate in Galway to have a number of organisations working to promote animal welfare and these allocations from the Department of Agriculture will help the organisations continue their important work for the benefit of communities across Galway.
