€82,000 has been allocated to several animal welfare organisations in Galway, my colleague, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed has informed me.
The funding allocations are:
|Fellenberg Foundation Ireland, Flesk, Woodford, Co. Galway||€4,000|
|Forgotten Horses Ireland, Rock Cottage, Ballycleara, Kinvara, Co. Galway||€7,500|
|Galway & Claddagh Swan Rescue, 68 Ashleigh Grove, Knocknacarra, Galway||€5,500|
|Galway Cat Rescue, Seacrest, Knocknacarra, Co. Galway||€5,000|
|Galway SPCA, Heathlawn, Killimor, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway||€40,000|
|MADRA, Cinn Mhara, Camus, Connemara, Co. Galway||€12,000|
|Pro Animale Ireland Ltd., Avalon Greyhound Sanctuary, Flesk, Woodford, Co. Galway||€8,000|
As someone with a background in farming and agriculture and as the owner of a rescue dog I know the importance of upholding the highest animal welfare standards.
We are fortunate in Galway to have a number of organisations working to promote animal welfare and these allocations from the Department of Agriculture will help the organisations continue their important work for the benefit of communities across Galway.
