Your views are being sought on the draft plans for the design and re-generation of the Sandy Road area of Galway City.

With funding from the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund, Galway City Council and the Land Development Agency commissioned the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland to carry out a design review of the Sandy Road locality.

The overall project aims to develop a plan to regenerate the Sandy Road district with new homes, community facilities, businesses, recreation areas and well-planned transport links.

Five architects have set out proposals and recommendations for the site and now, to move to the next stage, the views of the public are being sought on the development of this new city quarter.

Views, ideas and comments should be sent to galway.sandyroad@lda.ie before 31st July.
