New funding has been allocated to retailers in Galway and Mayo to help with the impact of Covid-19.

The national funding of €6.5 million has been allocated by Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Leo Varadkar with funding for 18 local businesses – 15 in Galway and three in Mayo.

With grants ranging from €16,000 to €40,000, the funding helps businesses develop and strengthen their online presence to grow sales and attract more business.

The Scheme is focused on Irish-owned retail businesses with 10 or more workers and aims to sustain or create jobs through online growth.
