Businesses in Galway and Mayo have received grants, to date, of €4.34 million and €2.84 million respectively under the Re-Start Grant.

The Government’s Re-start Grant involves direct grant aid to micro and small businesses of between €2,000 and €10,000, to help with the costs associated with reopening and re-employing workers following COVID-19 closures.

Developed by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, now led by Tánaiste and Minister Leo Varadkar, the Re-Start Grant is administered by city and county councils. Eligible firms in rateable premises can apply to their local authority for grant support.

The Re-Start Grant is helping businesses in communities across Galway and Mayo with the costs of getting back to businesses and helping workers resume their jobs.

The grant remains open for applications and I’d encourage businesses in Galway City, County and in Mayo to visit their council website to find out more or make an application.
