Treisiú do Phobail Gaeltachta na Gaillimhe le maoiniú de bheagnach €500,000 do 8 dtogra / Boost for Galway’s Gaeltacht Communities with funding of nearly €500,000 for eight projects

Cuirim fáilte roimh mhaoiniú de bheagnach € 500,000 do 8 dtogra i nGaillimh lena n-áirítear os cionn € 420,000 d’ionad pobail nua ar Inis Meáin.

Dheimhnigh na h-Airí Catherine Martin agus Jack Chambers ón Roinn Turasóireachta, Cultúir, Ealaíon, Gaeltacht, Spóirt agus na Meán an maoiniú dom chun tacú le heagraíochtaí pobail agus grúpaí i bpobail Gaeltachta.

Tacóidh an maoiniú suntasach seo le pobail na Gaeltachta i nGaillimh lena n-áirítear An Spidéal, An Cheathrú Rua, Bearna, Corr na Móna agus Oileáin Árann.

Ó luathoideachas go spóirt go meáin áitiúla, i dteannta le maoiniú caipitil, tá maoiniú ceadaithe don Comharchumann ar Inis Meáin do ionad pobail nua, do chlubanna CLG An Spidéal, An Cheathrú Rua agus Bearna do threalamh, na Comharchumann ar An Cheathrú agus Corr na Móna le haghaidh obair feabhsúcháin, i measc nithe eile.

Go háirithe, is infheistíocht mhór sa phobal é an maoiniú do Chomhlacht Forbartha Inis Meáin a mbeidh tairbhe acu as go ceann blianta.

Mar iar-aire sa Roinn d’oibrigh mé go crua chun maoiniú a fháil don rannán Gaeltacht agus Oileáin agus tá an-áthas orm go bhfuil na h-Airí Catherine Martin agus Jack Chambers ag leanúint den infheistíocht agus ag tacú lenár bpobail Gaeltachta.

I warmly welcome funding of almost €500,000 for eight projects in Galway including over €420,000 for a new community centre on Inis Meáin.

The funding was confirmed to me by Ministers Catherine Martin and Jack Chambers of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media and aims to support community organisations and groups in Gaeltacht communities. 

This significant funding will support communities across Galway’s Gaeltacht including An Spidéal, An Cheathru Rua, Bearna, Corr na Móna and the Aran Islands. 

From early education to sports to local media, in addition to capital funding, the funding has been allocated to the co-op on Inis Meáin for a new community centre, GAA clubs in An Spidéal, An Cheathru Rua and Bearna for equipment, and co-ops in An Cheathru and Corr na Móna for improvements to facilities, among others. 

In particular, the funding for Comhlacht Forbartha Inis Meáin / Inis Meáin Development Company represents a major investment in the community that will have benefits for years to come. 

As former minister in the Department I worked hard to secure extra funding for the Gaeltacht and Islands section and I’m delighted to see Ministers Catherine Martin and Jack Chambers continue the investment in and support for our Gaeltacht communities.
