Transport Infrastructure Ireland have allocated €8 million to commence the Moycullen Bypass which will go to tender in early 2021. Construction is expected to start this coming summer. The project has been identified as a priority for some years and Galway County Council have shortlisted 5 companies to tender for the project.
This is great news for Moycullen and Connemara as it will improve journey times and make the village of Moycullen safer for all. One of the benefits of the project is the projected removal of over 400 heavy vehicles from the village each day.
This project has been flagged for some years and 2021 will finally see the project commenced.
